We are seeking a dedicated and qualified Child Care Centre Manager to join our team at Swan Academy. As the Child Care Centre Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our centre, promoting the well-being and development of young children, and maintaining a safe and nurturing environment.

To be considered as a candidate, you need to have the following qualifications:

  • Diploma in Early Childhood Education
  • Apply First Aid (HLTFA311A)
  • Asthma and Anaphylaxis Training (22099VIC) and (22024VIC)
  • Identify and Respond to Children and Young People at Risk (CHCPRT001)

Skills & experiences:

  • At least two years of relevant experience.
  • Leadership skills to effectively manage and motivate a team of educators.
  • Strong communication abilities to interact with staff, parents, and regulatory authorities.
  • Thorough understanding of early childhood education regulations and compliance standards.
  • Proficiency in administrative tasks such as record-keeping and financial management.
  • Experience in staff recruitment, training, and performance evaluation.
  • Capability to develop and implement high-quality educational programs.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations in childcare settings.
  • Problem-solving skills to address challenges and implement effective solutions.
  • Ability to engage with families and the community to promote the center's services.
  • Understanding of child protection policies and procedures to ensure the safety of children.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement of the service through reflective practice

Your Role and Responsibilities including - not limited to:

  • Manage the day to day operations of the service in line with the NQF and as directed by Management.
  • Develop, monitor and review the Quality Improvement Plan as required by the Regulations (Regulation 55-56).
  • Interview and recommend the appointment of new staff in consultation with management.
  • Ensure all educators and staff are aware of their responsibilities under the NQF and have access to the Regulations and Law.
  • Ensure annual performance reviews are conducted for all permanent educators and individual training and development plans are created and maintained.
  • Lead the team of educators to plan, implement, assess and review a high quality and diverse educational program based on Swan Academy Philosophy and curriculum frameworks with reference to the NQS and EYLF, considering children’s ideas, interests and questions while taking into account each child’s physical, social, emotional, and cognitive aspects all the children in the room.
  • Lead the team of educators to actively support every child to participate in the program and ensure that the program promotes critical thinking, choices and communication.
  • Ensure that processes are in place to comply with the requirements of the Regulations in relation to educational program and practice (Regulation 73-76).
  • Lead the educator team in developing and maintaining respectful, supportive, collaborative and responsive relationships with children and their families.
  • Keeping records and managing accounts for the center.

  • To assist the head of agency to comply with child protection in the workplace – responding to allegations of reportable conduct against employees.
  • Ensure staff and children utilise effective health and hygiene practices, including meeting all regulations relating to food safety and preparation, medical management plans, risk management plans, policies and procedures.
