Experienced Early Childhood Teacher for Educational Leader

Come and join us! We are currently recruiting an experienced, reliable & enthusiastic ECT to join our Oz Education Family in our new centre @ Alexandria to fill the role of Educational Leader. 

We are seeking an experienced and passionate person to work closely with our Nominated Supervisor to support, lead and work alongside a team of educators to ensure that our centre provides the highest standard of quality.

Job tasks and responsibilities:

  • Have excellent knowledge of the current regulation and legislation
  • Have excellent knowledge of and the ability to successfully fulfill every element of the National Quality Standards & EYLF
  • In depth knowledge of child development and early years education for the 0-5 year age range
  • Knowledge of child centred, play based pedagogy, theorists and research
  • Experience with managing and appraising staff
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral
  • Ability to lead and contribute to workforce development
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Ability to work under pressure in order to meet deadlines, determine priorities and delegate as necessary
  • Ability to :
    • listen to and respect the views of others
    • state own ideas clearly and objectively
    • challenge when appropriate
    • ask for and act upon advice
    • support colleagues
  • Has demonstrable skills in planning for effective delivery
  • Able to evidence successful practice in assuring quality of delivery and practice
  • Be clear in your language and communication with others
  • Translate policy into practice
  • Oversee parent teacher meetings and other events where there is interface with the community
  • Be enthusiastically involved in all aspects of the running of the centre

Skills and experience:

  • University Degree in Teaching Early Childhood or approved equivalent qualification
  • First Aid & CPR
  • Approved Asthma & Anaphylaxis
  • Child Protection
  • National Police Check 
  • Experience in a similar role
