Early Childhood Teacher

This is a full time position (38 hours per week) at Western Sydney University Early Learning Penrith, located on the grounds of the Penrith Kingswood campus.

To be a successful applicant you must have;

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in Early Childhood (or equivalent)
  • DEC approved child protection certification
  • First Aid including CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication
  • Working with Children Check clearance and number for verification
  • Ability to fulfil the requirements of a Responsible Person in Charge
  • Knowledge of current regulations, Early Years Learning Framework and National Quality Standards
  • Knowledge of overall health and safety regarding education and care services
  • Experience working with policy and procedures and being actively involved in their review
  • The ability to take a lead role in delivering a high quality curriculum, using a collaborative approach
  • A passion for learning and intentional teaching of children aged birth to 6 years
  • A desire to form strong partnerships with children and families
  • An understanding of the principles of anti-discrimination, staff and student equity and the willingness and capacity to implement equal employment opportunity and work place health and safety plans, policy and programs
  • Be registered with NESA for teacher accreditation

Desirable:

  • Previous experience working in an education and care service
  • Involvement in ongoing current training programs
  • Involvement in the preparation and assessment under the National Quality Standard
