Assistant Coordinator - OOSH

Galaxy Outside School Hours is a privately owned school age care provider based in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs.  We are looking for an exceptional candidate to fill the following position:

Assistant Coordinator/Certified Supervisor) - Full Time

Essential Criteria:

  • NSW Working with Children Check
  • Accredited Child Protection Training
  • Relevant qualifications
  • Relevant experience working with children 5-12 years (consideration will also be given to candidates with experience working with children 0-5 years)
  • Experience, knowledge and education in play based learning experiences and planning relevant programs
  • Knowledge of the National Quality Framework
  • Passion for working with people
  • Exceptional interpersonal & relationship building skills
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • Exceptional communication skills

Desirable Criteria:

  • First Aid, Asthma & Anaphylaxis Training
  • Programming Experience
  • Leadership experience
  • Knowledge & experience with Qikkids (CCMS)

Tasks include:

Assisting Centre Coordinator to:

  • Developing and implementing programs to enhance the physical, social, emotional and intellectual development of young children
  • Providing care for children in before-school, after-school, day, and vacation care periods 
  • Directing and supervising Educators with regards to care and supervision of children
  • Ensuring a safe centre and environment for children, staff and visitors
  • Compliance with relevant government requirements and standards
  • Client liaising and management of relationships
  • Maintaining records and accounts
