 Early Childhood Teacher  and Diploma Trained Educator

We currently have 2 vacant positions at our centre - one is for an ECT (permanent full time) and the other for a diploma trained educator (maternity leave contract – full time)

Betty Spears Child Care Centre is a long established, well respected community based, not for profit, long day care centre located in Tempe.The Centre is licensed for 56 children per day. BSCCC is committed to providing engaging learning opportunities through authentic relationships, inquiry based practise, creativity and the arts along with exploring our natural environments and connecting with our local community.

You will need to  have :-

  • ACECQA recognised qualifications –

Early Childhood Teaching degree and accreditation with NESA   or

 Diploma of Children’s Services ( Early Childhood) or equivalent

  • Current First Aid, Asthma and Anaphylaxis certificate.
  • Current Working with Children Check (NSW).
  •  Experience developing and implementing meaningful and engaging curriculum for children from birth to 5 years of age
  •  Proven ability to work with others and collaborate in a team approach to curriculum development
  • Demonstrated high level of understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and National Quality Standards (NQS) and contemporary approaches to early childhood curriculum and pedagogy
  • Experience in an Early Childhood setting

Job Summary: 

As an educator at Betty Spears CCC, you would be an active member of a team which provides high quality early childhood education and care. You would have a passion to work with children across our programs from infants to preschool and willingness to support and work co-operatively with others. You would be capable of planning, implementing and documenting a learning program which is responsive to children’s interests, while providing challenges that ensure their developmental and emotional needs are being met. You would have good communication skills and can establish and maintain strong connections and relationships with children, their families and other members of the team.  You would be able to implement, practice and deliver on the policies, procedures and philosophy of the centre. You would have a knowledge of and interest in learning about current approaches (eg Circle of Security, Reggio Emilia Approach and Education for Sustainability). A commitment to ongoing personal and professional development would be supported at the centre.
