Young Minds Academy is looking for a Centre Director! 

Summary:  To provide innovative leadership in managing an established service.

Salary: Negotiable based on experience

Minimum Qualifications: Diploma 

Skills: Leadership, Communication, Administration, Planning. 

Experience: Management experience generally obtained from being (2IC). Minimum 1 year experience as 2IC or 4-6 years of continuous experience in the industry and desire to progress to the next step in your career. 

Weekly hours: Average 38 hours

We are seeking an experienced Director (Diploma degree) to be responsible for managing the day to day operations of the service. 

This role is partially administrative and in turn being familiar with OWNA and Kidsoft would be of advantage. 


General responsibilities:

  •  Recruitment, coordination and supervision of childcare staff
  • Developing programs to grow the physical, emotional, social and intellectual development of the children
  • Ensure the centre and staff comply to safety standards and government regulations.
  • Interacting with parents and meeting their need and expectations
  • Maintaining order within the establishment
  • Accountable for the overall success of the childcare including maintaining centre occupancy
  • Ensure that the philosophy, policies and procedures of the Service are upheld, implemented and reviewed regularly to meet relevant requirements.
  • Maintain compliance with the regulations as prescribed by the Education and Care Regulatory Unit along with all legal and statutory requirements.
  • Encourage staff and families of the Service to actively contribute to the quality and success of the Service.
  • You are a mandatory reporter and have the responsibility to report any concerns about abuse immediately - https://reporter.childstory.nsw.gov.au/s/mrg (NSW).

About You

  • Demonstrated ability to build constructive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Knowledge and experience in managing operational budgets, utilisation and marketing strategies
  • Demonstrated ability to establish a culture of reflective practice and continuous improvement across teams
  • Understanding of Child Protection legislation and holds an approved and current Child Protection Training qualification
  • Approved First Aid Qualification, Anaphylaxis Training and Asthma Management Training
  • Qualifications in Early Childhood Education, which meet the requirements to be a Nominated Supervisor under the Education and Care Services National Regulations 2013
  • Previous experience as a Centre Director or 2IC with excellent pedagogical practice informed by the EYLF
  • Working with Children's Check clearance number
  • Excellent understanding of the National Quality Framework, including the National Quality Standards, and the national assessment and rating system
  • Knowledge of relevant legislative documents, applicable to the Early Childhood sector
  • Experience in delivering inclusive and integrated services for families, particularly vulnerable and disadvantaged families
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and managing a team with effective skills in conflict resolution and implementing performance review processes
