What are we inspired by?

Our centre philosophy is inspired and guided by Reggio Emilia approach, specifically the 100 languages by Loris Malaguzzi. Our meaningful documentation is gathered to assess and reflect on childrens learning and inquires. Each week all room educators meet with the Educational leader to develop the Fortnightly Plan which reflects the classroom’s project, play and learning. Critical Reflections are conducted with the Educational Leader to get the most out of unpacking needs and driving towards successful journeys. 

Our environment spaces reflect the children’s learning. We utilise the environment as the third teacher and ensure the spaces are set up with the appropriate materials for the children to investigate and enhance their play and curiosities. This is done in a very meaningful and holistic way. None of our projects are tokenistic, we very much think outside the box, allowing the children to master a skill over time. We respectfully embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives naturally within our project topics. 

This year, our centre has been awarded a waste smart kindy in recognition of our passion and efforts of imbedding sustainability practices through our projects and environments. We have our famous Junk yard area for children to turn unwanted items into meaningful inventions and to promote risk play. Our Kindergarten Program is currently in a trial program with Downfall creek to promote cleaner waterways.

As we are building upon our environments and goals we are looking for Educators and Lead Educators to join our team for the following roles: 

2x Maternity Lead Educator roles that will lead to permanency in 2023.

1x Maternity Educator role that will lead to permanency in 2023.

1x Sustainability officer

1x Atelierista

 

Lead Educator in the Junior kindy classroom (2-3 yrs) and the Toddler Classroom (15mths – 2 years old) 

Sustainability officer: Are you an Eco Warrior like our children? Eager and holds knowledge about sustainability? 

We have opportunity for someone who is wanting the next step in their career (considering or working towards Diploma). 

One to two days a week the sustainability officer will: 

  • Ensure the centre is meeting sustainability practices.
  • Take care and teach the children the worm farm, compost system and rubbish bin system. 
  • Facilitate different ways with the children so they can continue being contributing eco warriors in their world with all age groups. 
  • Train Educators on sustainability.
  • Be flexible to support in other environments of the centre i.e. lunch cover and programming cover and must be available to any shift between operations hours of 6.30am - 6pm Monday to Friday. We are offering flexibility with four day working week arrangements.  

Atelierista: If you are passionate about art, sensory play and loose parts then this is the role for you. We have a beautiful open atelier space for children to be creative with a variety of material and mediums. 

You will have time to plan and set atelier environment up for projects. You will teach and guide the children on using tools, fostering their creativity in projects. 

  • Must be creative and have a knowledge and understanding of art 
  • Understanding of the planning cycle and documentation meeting the NQF, EYLF requirements. 
  • Have an understanding or willing to undergo training of the Reggio Emilia Atelierista / Atelier 
  • Diploma of children’s services or equivalent
  • Be flexible to support in other environments of the centre i.e. lunch cover and programming cover and must be available to any shift between operations hours of 6.30am - 6pm Monday to Friday. We offering flexibility with four day working week arrangements.
