Childcare Center Cook/ Kitchen Hand
Tarella House is a beautiful heritage-style building that strives to be an extension of home to the children, families and educators.
We have External Food Catering and the job would be to warm up precooked food by following the easy guidelines. in addition to chopping and serving fresh fruits and vegetables for moring and afternoon tea.
We are looking for a Part-Time/Full Time Kitchen Hand starting June 2025, who can understand how to read an action plan, follow childrens allergy chart and be diligent when serving alternative non-allergen meals.
Qualifications & experience:
- Experience in a similar setting - desirable but not essential
- An understanding of food safety
- Have a flexible and enthusiastic attitude
- Qualifications in Food Handling, or willingness to obtain.
- Good time management skills are essential to ensure that mealtimes run smoothly and that the kitchen is managed efficiently.
- Desired, but not essetial - A certifcate 3 in Early Childhood Education, or Working Towards a recognised ECE certifate.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
- Preparing morning tea, lunch & afternoon tea for up to 70 children a day.
- Stock control, preparing shopping lists, maintaining food and hygeine safety
- Adhering to the National Quality Standards of food preparation
- Maintaining a clean and organised kitchen
- Basic food preparation tasks
- Completing and recording the required food/temperature checks and additional cleaning cheklists

We are set within a grand historic house, with expansive grounds hosting large natural outdoor play areas for children.
