About the Opportunity Council is looking for an Out of School Hours (OOSH) Centre Director to lead a professional Education and Care team. The successful applicant will manage and deliver an educational program in a warm and caring environment that enriches and enhances children's lives and compliments their families’ beliefs. To be considered for this position - you will need: Degree in Education, and/or a Diploma in Children’s Services or Out of School hours (OOSH) First Aid Certificate and Drivers licence Approval as Nominated Supervisor (This is applied for after appointment to the position) Proven skills and experience in the following areas: Child care and education, staff management and customer service, strong communication skills, Budget management A solid understanding of relevant legislation including: Child Protection Legislation, Work, Health and Safety Legislation (WH&S), Equal Employment Opportunities (EEO) and the National Quality Framework (NQF) Please review the Position description for further details on essential criteria here. Salary: Employment is under the Local Government (State) Award. This position is placed at Grade 11 of the new Cumberland Council salary structure with a salary range of $1,464.10 to $1,683.71 per week, plus Superannuation. Commencement salary will depend on qualifications, experience and competencies. Conditions of Employment: This is a temporary full time maternity relief position up to 12 months based on 35 hours per week and working rostered hours between 6am to 6pm Monday to Friday working 7.75 hours per day including split shifts, with an RDO every fortnight. This position will be located at Pemulwuy OOSH, but you may be required to work at any one of our 17 Childcare Centre's across the Cumberland LGA. You may also be required to attend training, education events and staff meetings outside of your normal working hours. We have an exciting opportunity for a highly experienced Director to be the foundational Director of our new state of the art, purpose built building (60 places) for our new pre-school opening on the grounds of St John of God Catholic Primary School, Auburn in July 2019. About the opportunity: The Director of the centre will work closely with the Parish community and be fully supported by the SCECS management team. The role is focused on providing leadership in ensuring high quality education and care provision. The Centre Director is responsible for managing all day to day aspects of the service’s operations while maintaining strong relationships with children, parents and team members.
