About the Opportunity Council is looking for Children’s Services Trainee's to be part of a professional Education and Care team. The successful applicant will need to demonstrate exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, be passionate about working closely with other educators, children and families as well as the community to ensure the delivery of a quality education and care service, in accordance with the Education and Care Services National Law and National Regulations. Traineeships involve gaining a recognised qualification while you earn money and gain on-the-job experience. You will be required to undertake formal training via correspondence with a Registered Training Organisation. The traineeship would be undertaken in the Certificate IV in School Age Education and Care and the position is for a fixed term period of 12 months working in Council's Out of School Hours(OOSH) Centre's . To be considered eligible, you cannot already hold a Diploma or Bachelor qualification in any field (including overseas qualifications). Salary: Employment is under the Local Government (State) Award. This position is placed in Grade 2 of the new Cumberland Council salary structure with a salary range of $24.36 - $28.01 per hour plus superannuation. Commencement salary will depend on qualifications, experience and competencies. Conditions of Employment: These are fixed term positions for a period of 12 months. Two positions will be 25 hours per week and one will be 15 hours per week based on a roster between 6.00am and 6.00pm Monday to Friday and will include split shifts. You may be required to work at any one of Council's 17 Children's Services Centre's across the Cumberland LGA. You may also be required to attend training, education events and staff meetings outside of your normal working hours.
