We are currently seeking an experienced cook/chef to join our wonderful team in our Doncaster centre.You must be experienced in menu planning, purchasing and preparing meals that meet nutritional requirements.You will be required to comply with the centres food safety plan ensuring that the food is stored and handled properly and that the kitchen and all its equipment are maintained sanitary. You will be responsible for preparing healthy snacks and meals for 40 children ages 0-6 years while following National Food Standards and the centres guidelines including catering to our children with special requirements. We are currently seeking qualified Chefs to join our rapidly growing team in our soon to open centres at Bundoora and Mickleham. In this role you will be responsible for providing a healthy, fresh, diverse and wholesome menu catering to children aged 0 to 6 years of age. You will have the opportunity to work with our Nutritional Ambassador Lauren Burns and our team to design seasonal menu plans & recipes, as well as oversee the daily operations of your own centre’s kitchen and meals. This is a permanent part-time role working Monday to Friday. Specific responsibilities include: Preparing daily nutritious and on time meals including breakfast, morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea for children 0 to 6 years of age, including preparation of puree's and any dietary requirements. Understanding and adhering to the centre's nutrition policy and guidelines. Maintaining a safe and clean kitchen, in line with the centre Supervise Assistant Chef. To be successful in this role you must Experience and passion for cooking and presenting a wide variety of nutritious foods that are suitable for children 0 to 6 years of age. Have completed relevant vocational qualifications in commercial cookery, valid employment working with children check, Food Safety Supervisor certificate. Have good time management skills and be confident managing a kitchen. Be reliable, positive and well organised person Senior First Aid, CPR and Anaphylaxis certificate. Can precisely manage allergy and intolerance requirements with food preparation and delivery daily. High quality of customer service when working with colleagues, families and children. Nestled within leafy Lane Cove, the team of passionate and stable educators give the centre a warm and welcoming feel. Your role as a Child Care Cook As a Cook, you will plan and prepare nutritious, well-presented and appropriate meals and snacks for the children within our amazing centre. You will be developing a seasonal, nutritious menu that caters for individual requirements i.e. medical conditions, food preferences and cultural considerations and ensures children’s health and wellbeing whilst maintaining strong relationships with children, educators, families and the entire centre community. You will ensure that best practice food safety and hygienic standards are upheld within your kitchen at all times.
