Early Intervention Specialist/Educator

Early Intervention Specialist (Educator) – the position
The Early Intervention Specialist operates within early learning frameworks to provides small group learning opportunities for children with autism spectrum disorder, in a long day care setting. Work within our intensive program under the supervision of a transdisciplinary team to deliver natural developmental behavioural interventions or as a part of our Supported Learning Space, assisting children to generalise early learning skills in a play based program that focusses on children’s individual strengths and interests.

The essentials:
- Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care or in final stages of studying is mandatory
- Knowledge of typically developing children (from birth to school age) and theories of early childhood development / Early Years Learning Framework
- Willingness to learn evidence-based intervention strategies and ASD-specific techniques (working with autism)
- Knowledge of relevant legislation (including Child Protection Law and the National Quality Standards)
- Understanding of the provision of safe, well planned, indoor and outdoor learning environments
The successful applicant will require a working with children clearance and NDIS clearance - AEIOU will support you to obtain within your application progress.
