Family Day Care Coordinator
We are looking for an enthusiastic experienced Family Day Care Coordinator to join our Team at Mindful Learners Family Day Care. We are a small family-orientated business that endeavour in creating a highly supportive environment for its team. The service has achieved a Meeting Requirements rating in September 2026.
The role is a part-time position, initially offered as a 6 months contract with renewal for the right candidate.
The candidate needs to be available in the afternoons and during the day during school holidays.

The Principal office is located in Moonee Ponds, the educators are located mainly in the Northern suburbs. This is a hands-on role where you will be job sharing the visits with our other coordinator.
Key Responsibilities:
- Mentor, train, and provide ongoing professional development for Family Day Care (FDC) educators.
- Monitor educator practices, ensure adherence to the National Quality Framework (NQF) , Family Assistance Law and maintain high standards of child safety, health, and education.
- Assist educators in designing, implementing, and evaluating educational programs for children and work in collaboration with the NSO and director to achieve QIP goals
- Communicate with families, address concerns, and build strong relationships.
- Manage record-keeping, guideline implementation, and day-to-day operations.
- Ensure a safe, healthy, and stimulating home-based environment for children.
- Contribute to the development and updating service policies and procedures.
Core Duties:
- Conducting home visits to provide hands-on support.
- Monitoring educator portfolios and performance.
- Supporting the service and the educators in ensuring that children are central to our practice and operations
- Organizing training and professional learning opportunities.
- Be an advocate for inclusive practices and providing equitable opportunities to children.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
- Diploma-level qualification in Early Childhood Education and Care (or equivalent).
- Current Asthma and anaphylaxis certificate and CPR (early childhood)
- Police check within the last 6 months
- Child Protection Certificate
- National Child Safety Certificate Foundation 1 and 2
- Strong organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent communication and people skills
- Be a team player
- Need to have a valid driver’s licence , driving experience and a car is preferable (km will be reimbursed)
- Above all, a genuine passion for early children and be the champion of every child!
- Thorough knowledge of the ECEC National Laws and Regulations and Family Assistance Law
- Knowledge of CCS software highly desired
- At least 2 years’ experience as a family day care coordinator is highly desirable or equivalent experience in long day care settings will be considered
