Early Childhood Educator with Temp Acting Educational Leader Role

Mater Dei Early Childhood Education (MDECE) are seeking a permanent, full time Early Childhood Educator with the ability to fill the role of Acting Educational Leader for two terms (parental leave replacement) to join our team as soon as possible.  We also encourage applicants looking for part time or casual work to apply.

MDECE offers centre-based early childhood education programs for babies and toddlers with developmental delay and/or disability and all children from birth to their Transition to School including children who have been assessed with profound, severe, moderate or mild developmental delay and/or disability.

We provide a strong person-centred, family-focused approach in which educators work with parents/carers and professionals to collaboratively determine and implement each child’s realistic, achievable short-term goals and, in turn, the child’s medium-term and long-term outcomes.

Education and care services including MDECE are assessed against the National Quality Standard (NQS) that measures the quality of early childhood education and care in Australia.  MDECE did not just meet these standards, but was ranked as Exceeding National Quality Standards in every single Quality Area as well as in all 18 Standards within the 7 Quality Areas.

About the Role

Your role will be to deliver high quality, developmentally appropriate early childhood education programs to children within a warm, welcoming, inclusive and safe environment. 

We invite Educators with relevant qualifications including Early Childhood Teachers, Diploma Qualified Educators and Certificate III Educators to apply.

Essential criteria:

  • ACECQA Approved qualification
  • Experience in early childhood education
  • A sound understanding of:
  1. the Education and Care Services National Regulations (National Regulations)
  2. the National Quality Framework (NQF)
  3. the National Quality Standards (NQS)
  4. Belonging, Being and Becoming: The Early Years Learning Framework for Australia (EYLF)
  • Experience working with children with developmental delay and/or a disability
  • A current Working With Children Check
  • Current First Aid qualifications including CPR certification and current Anaphylaxis training certification
  • COVID-19 vaccination is a condition of employment within the Mater Dei Organisation.  Evidence (of 2 doses of vaccine for COVID-19) must be produced prior to an offer of employment being made.
